Fifty years ago, the Bachelor’s was pretty standard for teachers. True, 1 in 4 went on to get a Master’s. But 1 in 6 didn’t even make it to a B.A.

Times changed. Higher education has boomed in America, and many states upped their degree requirements for teachers. Now, almost 2 in 3 teachers have Master’s degrees, while more than 99 out of 100 have at least a Bachelor’s. (Doctor’s remain pretty rare.)
